In the Local Church

March 24-26, 2023

Dr. JR Cuevas

Dr. Cuevas is a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Serving as both a pastor and teacher, JR has extensive counseling experience in both church and educational contexts.

JR will be leading a workshop at Nuuanu Baptist with the goal of introducing biblical and foundational principles that all believers should be equipped with. If we are being faithful to "make disciples", we will undoubtedly be faced with helping our brothers and sisters through overwhelming circumstances: addiction, depression, marital conflict, abuse, mental illness, and more. Without a biblical foundation to counsel them in truth, we often feel helpless and exasperated.

However, God's Word is powerful and sufficient to minister to every need of our fallen and broken condition. As we learn to apply the truths of the gospel to our hearts and trust in the work of the Holy Spirit, we can help one another approach such trials with confidence and hope through Christ.

Please join us for this weekend workshop to be encouraged, equipped, and sharpened for the task!
